Natasha Brealey, Project Manager within the PMO department, tells us about her experience and journey at M247.

I’m so pleased to work for a company that has given me the opportunity to progress

I joined the company in 2014 as a Provisioning Co-ordinator, working my way up and being promoted to Provisioning Supervisor. During my time in this role, I was seconded onto a system implementation project (SFDC) for six months.

Once the project was completed, I was offered the position of Capacity Manager, joining the Infrastructure team within the Technology department. Within a few weeks of starting this new role, it evolved into Capacity & Maintenance Manager. 18 months later I moved over to the PMO function as a Project Manager (PM).  

M247 funded my professional qualification to help me progress

In June 2019 a group of my colleagues and I completed the PRINCE2 Project Management course and qualified on both Foundation and Practitioner levels.

This course was provided by an external supplier, funded by M247 and held on site here at Turing House over the course of four days. This qualification is the underlying framework for all projects and will support me and the business going forward for many years to come. 

I absolutely love working as a PM as a part of the PMO

No two days are the same and I feel I am constantly learning and evolving as a person and Project Manager. The team are amazing and incredibly supportive. With varied experience between us all, we all work together to assist each other in different ways. Working under my manager, the Head of PMO, is fantastic. Pete is a great manager who is very encouraging, reassuring and positive. He is an expert in framework and project standards and I feel very fortunate to have Pete as my manager.

We have been encouraged to voice our opinions, and M247 have listened to what people have had to say and responded positively.

Training programs and mentoring have become an essential part of Personal Development Programs, along with the support from managers, Senior Leadership Team and the Executive Team.

I hope the future holds more learning, development and progression

I would like to expand my knowledge within Project Management by learning and understanding different project methodologies including Agile and Six Sigma. Developing my skills and applying them to as many projects as possible, with the view to work my way up to a Senior Project Manager level. 

It’s such an exciting place to work – M247 really is moving in the right direction.
