M247 are pleased to announce they have been ranked 59th in the Prolific North Top 75 Tech & eCommerce Companies 2020. The awards are seen as the benchmark ranking of companies who are succeeding in one of the North’s most successful sectors. This is the second consecutive year M247 have made the top 75 list.
The list was compiled by Mustard Research, who drew on financial information and supporting data to create the full rankings.
This year there have been some interesting findings to come from the research and list:
- The average turnover for companies listed within the Top 75 was £327 million, yet this saw a dramatic increase for those named in the Top 10 where the average jumped to an enormous £1.69 billion
- Once again, software companies have the strongest representation. 16% of the list is software firms, whose average turnover is £206.5 million.
- Revenue increased by an average of around 9% compared to 2019.
- With overall employment rates for the region’s tech sector has remained stable despite conditions, growing by about 1% since last year.
Manchester has cemented its reputation as the leading destination for tech outside the capital, with companies based here taking the main share of the Top 75 ranking, highlighting its national and international influence as a hub for online retail and technology.
