FluidOne and Metronet (UK) have agreed terms on a partnership that will enable FluidOne to wholesale Metronet (UK)’s Wireless proposition on a layer-2 basis to other UK ISPs and its direct customers.
The joint venture puts FluidOne into the upper tier of Metronet (UK)’s partners and positions them as a significant conduit for distributing their services across the UK for the foreseeable future. Resilient datacentre feeds and a close working relationship will ensure a robust end-to-end delivery.
Metronet (UK)’s wholesale wireless platform provides partners with an advanced alternative to fibre in the ground. The platform fills the large gap that traditional providers have been unable to fill with major benefits including reduced lead times, quicker revenue and no excess install charges. Businesses today need and want internet connectivity readily available to them as soon as possible. Partners using Metronet (UK)’s wholesale platform can give their customers access to wireless connectivity in half the time than traditional fibre connectivity.

The partnership further strengthens FluidOne’s position as the national grid of data networks with the addition of Metronet bringing the total last mile carriers plugged into FluidOne now standing at 19.
