National Museums Liverpool is now benefitting from a fully managed MPLS solution, provided by connectivity and managed services provider Metronet (UK).

Metronet (UK), in partnership with Gardner Systems, was successful in tendering to provide NML with an eight-site MPLS solution for its head office and several museum sites.

National Museums Liverpool manages eight museums and galleries within the Liverpool city region including the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the Museum of Liverpool and the Walker Art Gallery. Its existing MPLS was not sufficient and it was in need of a new provider.

Sam Planche, IT Technical Manager at National Museums Liverpool said, “We are really impressed with the work Metronet (UK) has done, it has been very efficient and professional throughout the process and continues to be so now. This solution is exactly what we required. Our museums and galleries attract more than 2.8 million visitors each year and our old connection needed updating. Metronet (UK) was able to provide this with a rapid turnaround. Their team has been a pleasure to deal with and we would highly recommend Metronet (UK)’s services.”

The solution provided was fully wireless, delivering a range of different speeds dependent on the requirement for each site. The solution provides National Museums Liverpool with a secure and resilient platform for sharing applications and information between its multiple sites. The service is fully managed and monitored by Metronet (UK)’s industry leading specialists.

Rob Townsend, Marketing Director at Metronet (UK) said, “It is fantastic to be able to support some of Liverpool’s most iconic venues and cater for all their connectivity needs. Metronet (UK) has had network coverage in Liverpool for many years now and we have built a strong relationship with many of the city’s top businesses. This solution means that National Museums Liverpool can have all its sites on one network, along with our industry leading support, allowing its staff to concentrate on their cultural offer without worrying about the connectivity infrastructure.”
