Total Fitness Health Clubs have partnered with Metronet (UK) for a complete overhaul of their technology infrastructure.
Metronet (UK) has provided a 17 site MPLS solution using both wireless and fibre connectivity. This fully managed solution includes colocation and WiFi for use by Total Fitness’ members and mobile workforce, enabling the company to push the business forward.
Founded in the late 1990’s, Total Fitness has established itself as the leading health club in the North of England and Wales and now has over 95,000 members with 500+ employees. The head office, along with the biggest gym, is based in Wilmslow where the team manages the day-to-day running of all the health clubs including marketing, membership and technology.
Total Fitness was struggling on an old legacy copper based MPLS which was unreliable and out of date. Metronet (UK) migrated the existing network onto a new 17 site MPLS to include all of the health clubs. This robust and reliable service had unlimited capability and the capacity to use the connectivity as required. The health club is able to use the infrastructure to the best of its ability.
David Atkinson, Head of Technology at Total Fitness said, “The solution provided by Metronet (UK) is exactly what we needed, as they own their own infrastructure, and it gives us the scalability and flexibility required. It also means that the speed of response is second-to-none. Not only that, the customer service from pre-sales, provisioning through to day-to-day support has been first class. I have never dealt with a team that is so knowledgeable about the technology they are providing.”
Amar Baghdadi, Head of New Business at Metronet (UK) said, “At Metronet (UK) we pride ourselves on being able to quickly help out businesses who are struggling with poor infrastructure. Our MPLS solution means that companies with multiple offices such as Total Fitness can have all their sites on one network with industry leading support. We are pleased to welcome Total Fitness onto our network and look forward to working with them more in the future.”
