We are looking for a Pre-Sales Solution Architect who’s passionate about cloud and technology. As a pre-sales solution architect you will focus on cloud, infrastructure and virtualisation technologies and will work closely with new customers at the initial engagement as well as existing customers looking to expand their offerings. You will provide technical leadership and accountability for customer solutions and responsibility for requirements capture and technical design, fully supported with solution commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the sales function to maximise all opportunities
  • Understanding and capture of customers technology requirements aligned to business outcomes
  • Project focussed, working end to end, from presales design and handover to delivery architects
  • Customer facing and comfortable presenting at all levels (Tech to C-Level)
  • Work closely with Solution Architecture peers in designing solutions to customer requirements
  • Work closely with Project management to define project scope and assign responsibilities
  • Assist sales team in presenting proposed solutions both written and verbal
  • Attain trusted technology advisor status for customers
  • Lead projects and supervise subject matter experts and implementation peers
  • Decipher Infrastructure and Cloud assessments for customers and peers
  • Ability to deliver technical workshops, demonstrations and proof of concepts
  • Compare and contrast competitive technology
  • Identify business opportunities and resolve technical queries from customers
  • Support major bids with written responses
  • Work closely with 3rd party suppliers, internal SME’s, colleagues and the business
  • Produce and maintain detailed customer facing High Level Designs
  • Apply industry standard best practice and methodologies

Key Attributes

Role Specific Attributes:

  • IT Generalist with at least 5 years in a similar role
  • Understanding of cloud architecture (Public and Private)
  • Technical solution selling competencies
  • Commercially astute and competitively aware
  • Internal collaboration, use and drive opportunity utilising internal resources such as technical specialists, project management, solution architects and professional services resources
  • Solution design (HLD), Contribution to sales proposals and tender responses
  • Directly support the Sales/marketing/Technology/Business Intelligence/Delivery/DevOps teams
  • Excellent presentation skills (written, verbal and customer facing)
  • Facilitate interactive customer workshops and design sessions
  • Working knowledge of ITIL, ISO27001 and security frameworks
  • Current knowledge of the Azure & AWS product sets and individual product use cases
  • Working knowledge and experience of private virtualization technologies
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Networking
  • Attain and maintain relevant accreditations
  • Maintain close relationships with our vendor partners

Experience:

  • Worked within large IT enterprise, Solution Integrator or MSP environment in customer facing role (presales/consultant)
  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent field of expertise preferred
  • Background in virtualisation, storage and networking
  • Business and commercial acumen (with strong understanding of customer sales cycles)

Technical credibility:

  • System Engineer Level vendor qualifications from Dell/Nutanix/VMware/Cisco/Microsoft
  • Microsoft Azure and O/M365 training and certification beneficial
  • VMware certification and training
  • Dell/EMC portfolio
  • Nutanix Enterprise Cloud
  • Core networking L2/L3 – CCNA or equivalent experience
