Ice Colo has recently had two exciting expansion upgrades, unusual in these economic times, but with their industry recognised high growth levels the increase of capacity and greater customer service is vital to keep at the very top of their offerings.
The first upgrade has been on the Manchester ring, increasing it from 10GE to 20GE using Global AXS’s CWDM ring, this gives far greater room for expansion in the near future and means that the Data centre is now a 40Gbit site. With customers ranging from large corporates right the way down to small business and individuals Ice Colo is committed to offering an excellent site for colocation of servers and dedicated servers.
The second addition is a 10GE connection to Cogent in Manchester, this gives another route out of Manchester, maximising Cogent’s connections direct to Amsterdam and the USA without the need to go via London. This develops the network and makes it far more resilient. It’s great to have a state of the art data centre, but if the connectivity to it fails, it all fails. At Ice Colo every option is pulled into play to ensure a high level of resilience and we are thrilled that this just adds another level to that.
With further upgrades expected later this year, including a 10GE connection to Global Crossing in London and Frankfurt, GigE connection to Cogent and a USA POP for the new CDN platform, this year is looking very exciting as Ice Colo continues to provide the very best in data centre service.
